Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations for a contract opportunity with permanent potential based in New York, New York. This role is ideal for someone who is confident managing the full bookkeeping cycle, maintaining accurate financial records, and working independently in a fast-paced environment. The position will play a key part in keeping accounts current, reconciling financial activity, and ensuring payroll and month-end entries are completed accurately and on schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete bookkeeping process, including maintaining the general ledger and supporting accurate financial records.

• Process accounts payable transactions, verify documentation, and ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner.

• Handle accounts receivable activity, track incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.

• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to confirm accuracy across financial records.

• Prepare and post journal entries in alignment with accrual-based accounting practices.

• Support payroll processing by reviewing records, maintaining accuracy, and helping ensure timely payment.

• Use QuickBooks to record transactions, organize financial data, and generate routine accounting information.

• Assist with month-end close activities and help resolve discrepancies through careful research and documentation. Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar accounting role.

• Strong hands-on experience using QuickBooks in an accounting environment with careful attention to detail.

• Demonstrated knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping procedures.

• Experience completing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate supporting records.

• Solid understanding of accrual-based accounting and preparation of journal entries.

• Background supporting payroll processing with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
