Full job description

Senior Site Safety & Health SpecialistPosition Overview

The Senior Site Safety & Health Specialist is responsible for leading and implementing project-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures while providing safety leadership and guidance to project management teams in a heavy construction environment. This individual will administer Safety & Health programs across field construction projects to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and enforce project-specific Safety & Health programs and initiatives.

  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and safety assessments to ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with project management, contractors, and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture.

  • Investigate incidents and near misses, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.

  • Deliver safety training and ongoing safety education to field personnel.

  • Monitor field activities on transmission, distribution, and substation construction projects to ensure safe work practices are followed.

  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.

  • Support multiple project sites as needed and serve as the primary safety resource in the field.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting high-voltage transmission construction projects.

  • Previous substation construction experience.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, utility construction safety practices, and field safety management.

  • Experience working with utility contractors and subcontractors.

  • Ability to independently manage site safety programs and initiatives.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CUSP, CSP, CHST, or equivalent safety certification.

  • Experience with:

  • EM385

  • ANSI standards

  • NIOSH guidelines

  • National Electrical Code (NEC)

  • Root Cause Analysis methodologies

  • Utility construction safety programs

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $67.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
