Schedule: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Pay Rate: $80.52 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire an accomplished Engineering Contractor in Savannah, Georgia.

This is an opportunity for a highly experienced engineering professional to take ownership of major, technically complex projects where your decisions, expertise, and innovative thinking can have a significant impact. You’ll tackle critical engineering challenges that require advanced technical solutions, influence engineering standards and practices, and help drive improvements across product performance, cost, and schedule.

What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Contractor, you will work with a high degree of independence and technical authority. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Take responsibility for major engineering projects of significant complexity within established scope.

  • Make technical decisions and recommendations that have a substantial impact on broader engineering activities.

  • Apply advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts using extensive expertise or specialized technical knowledge.

  • Lead the development of innovative engineering principles, ideas, and solutions .

  • Identify and implement improved methods and procedures to optimize technical performance, product quality, cost, and schedule requirements .

  • Exercise independent judgment while working under consultative direction to achieve project and program objectives.

  • Develop engineering standards, methodologies, and technical guides for diverse activities.

  • Conceive, plan, and lead investigations into critical engineering areas where established precedents may be limited or nonexistent.

  • Collaborate across technical disciplines to solve challenging engineering problems.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of program and organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related curriculum applicable to the position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the role.

  • 13 years of experience within a specific technical engineering discipline , or

  • 15 years of broad engineering experience across multiple technical disciplines with a bachelor’s degree.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex engineering projects and make high-impact technical decisions.

  • Advanced technical expertise and the ability to apply engineering principles to challenging or unprecedented problems.

  • Strong judgment, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively with limited direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Advanced or specialized expertise applicable to the engineering discipline and program.

  • Experience developing innovative solutions, engineering standards, processes, or technical methodologies.

  • Proven experience influencing technical direction on large-scale, complex engineering programs.

Advanced Degree Experience Credit: Relevant advanced degrees may receive experience credit of up to 2 years for a master’s degree and 4 years for a PhD , when applicable to the position.

Pay Details: $80.52 per hour
