Job Summary

Jones Sign Company is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Staff Accountant to support the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations. This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial information in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), maintaining accounting records, managing inventory and fixed assets, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys partnering with cross-functional teams to drive operational and financial excellence.

This is an in-office position based out of our corporate offices located on Scheuring Rd., De Pere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to inventory, fixed assets, liabilities, accruals, and other general ledger accounts.

  • Assist in the month end and year end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all financial reporting activities.

  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.

  • Perform account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and investigate variances to ensure accuracy of financial records.

  • Support the organization's cash management activities through accurate accounting, reporting, and adherence to internal controls.

  • Administer sales and use tax filings and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Maintain expertise in the company ERP system and support continuous improvement of accounting processes and reporting capabilities.

  • Partner with external auditors and tax professionals during audits, tax filings, and other compliance activities.

  • Support compliance with local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements.

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the organization to provide accurate financial information, analysis, and support that enables informed business decisions.

  • Assist with budgeting and special projects as assigned.

  • Perform additional accounting and financial analysis responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.

  • Four or more years of accounting experience preferred.

  • Manufacturing experience, including inventory accounting and cost accounting, is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting practices.

  • Experience working with ERP systems and integrated financial reporting tools.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.

  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
