Secret Software Engineer

Job Description

One of Insight Globals client is looking for a Secret Software Engineer. This person will support a mission-critical defense program at NORAD's Cheyenne Mountain Complex, helping develop and maintain software that supports Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and space operations. This is a highly collaborative environment where engineers work closely with other developers to build, enhance, and modernize mission-focused applications used by the Department of Defense. The day-to-day work is a mix of backend Java development, microservices architecture, full-stack application integration, containerization, and DevSecOps practices. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical challenges, writing clean and secure code, and contributing within an Agile team supporting systems that directly impact national security.

This is a 100% onsite full time position in Colorado Springs with a pay range of $65,000 - $72,000 based on experience. If interested please apply!

Skills and Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

• 1-3 years of professional software development experience

• Strong Java development experience

• Experience developing, testing, and supporting software applications Ability to obtain IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) within 60 days of hire

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another STEM-related field

• Experience with Spring Boot and/or Spring Cloud

• Experience developing REST APIs or microservices

• Full-stack development experience, including JavaScript, TypeScript, or React

• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices

• Experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka, or RabbitMQ

• Military experience or familiarity with Department of Defense environments Experience supporting missile warning, space operations, or other defense-related systems
