Job Description

Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Skyraider aircraft program. This individual will play a key role in the development, integration, and verification of mission systems onboard next-generation ISR, electronic warfare, and special mission aircraft platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong systems engineering background, experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and the ability to leverage modern AI-assisted engineering tools such as Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies to improve engineering efficiency and accelerate development efforts. This position will work across multiple engineering disciplines to define requirements, develop system architectures, support aircraft integration activities, and guide systems through the entire development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain system and subsystem requirements for mission-critical aircraft systems.

  • Support the design, integration, and verification of avionics, communications, electronic warfare, ISR, networking, and mission systems.

  • Utilize MBSE methodologies to develop system architectures, operational concepts, and digital engineering artifacts.

  • Collaborate with software, hardware, avionics, test, and integration teams throughout the system development lifecycle.

  • Create and maintain requirements traceability, interface definitions, and verification documentation.

  • Support lab integration, ground testing, flight testing, and system validation activities.

  • Develop Concepts of Operation (CONOPS), use cases, and operational workflows. Analyze technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools such as Codex or GitHub Copilot to support automation, scripting, data analysis, documentation, and engineering productivity.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5-7 years of Systems Engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting complex aerospace, defense, aviation, or mission systems programs.
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering "V" lifecycle process.
  • Experience writing, managing, and verifying system requirements.
  • Strong experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
  • Experience supporting system integration and test activities.
  • Aircraft mission systems integration experience.
  • Knowledge of ISR, Electronic Warfare (EW), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), ELINT, SATCOM, datalinks, avionics, or communications systems.
  • Experience with DOORS, Cameo, MagicDraw, JIRA, or similar engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering initiatives and Digital Thread concepts.
  • Python, scripting, or automation experience.
  • Experience utilizing AI-powered engineering tools such as Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms in a secure engineering environment.
  • Previous military aviation, flight test, or special mission aircraft experience.
