Full job description

About Suno We're building the world's first creative entertainment platform, where the entire world can feel the joy and fulfillment of making music. Music is for everyone: Our users include everyone from grandmothers creating songs for their loved ones, to Grammy winners using Suno Studio, our power tool, to make the most popular hits in the world. Building the future of entertainment requires ambition. The pace is fast, the problems are hard, and the work demands ownership and intensity. For the right people, it’s incredibly rewarding: a chance to shape a new medium, work with a small team that cares deeply about quality, make music, drink too much coffee, and build something that millions of people use to express themselves in ways that were never before possible. Suno is the fastest growing consumer entertainment company and the leader in AI music. We are backed by leading investors including Bond Capital, Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, IVP, Forerunner, Union Square Ventures, Alkeon, Quiet, Matrix Partners, Schroders Capital and, NVentures (venture arm of NVIDIA).

About the Role We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead Suno’s Social team — a small, high-caliber group of fullstack product engineers building the network effects that turn Suno from a single-player creation tool into a creative network. You’ll own the team’s talent, delivery, and technical direction across the social layer: organic notifications, profiles and creative identity, the follow graph, and social engagement from sharing to comments. This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll grow the team, set the technical bar by example, and partner closely with product, design, and data science to discover what social means for music. The charter is still expanding (sharing is next), so you’ll help shape where it goes, not just execute a fixed roadmap.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a small team of fullstack product engineers who own Suno’s social layer — notifications, profiles, the follow graph, and social engagement from sharing to comments

  • Grow the team by hiring strong engineers, developing them across the stack, and holding a high bar through honest, firm performance management

  • Set technical direction for social systems at scale — guiding architecture for the follow graph, notifications, and profiles, and championing mobile-first API design

  • Partner with product, design, and data science on roadmap ideation, discovering and fostering the emergent social behaviors that deepen engagement

  • Ship retention-driving features with end-to-end rigor: metrics read-outs, logging, dogfooding, and post-launch follow-up

  • Advance Suno’s mission of making creative fulfillment a daily reality by building the network that lets people create and experience music together

What You’ll Need Must-Haves

  • 5–7 years in software engineering, including 2–4 years managing engineers — hiring, developing, and running firm performance cycles

  • Genuine, demonstrable intuition for social products and network effects — you’re a real user and a first-principles thinker about what makes products sticky, and you understand how to grow a network without collapsing context

  • Enough technical depth to guide architecture and stay hands-on — you can review code, weigh trade-offs, and jump into the codebase when it helps

  • A track record of creating structure in ambiguous, 0→1 environments, ideally shipping consumer social products at startup pace

  • Strong asynchronous, cross-functional communicator who reduces ambiguity rather than creating it

  • A love of music (listening, exploring, making — we’re not picky about genre)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience on a growth team — social and growth are two sides of the same coin

  • Founding or 0→1 experience inside a larger organization (a “startup within a startup”)

  • Fullstack range across mobile, web, and backend

  • Familiarity with network-effects and engagement-mechanics literature

Perks & Benefits for Full-Time Employees

  • Company Equity Package

  • 401(k) with 3% Employer Match & Roth 401(k)

  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance (PPO w/ HSA & FSA options)

  • 11 Paid Holidays + Unlimited PTO & Sick Time

  • 16 Weeks of Paid Parental Leave

  • Creative Education Stipend

  • Generous Commuter Allowance

  • In-Office Lunch (5 days per week)

Additional Notes:

  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

  • This role requires working onsite at our NYC office.

Compensation:

  • The annual salary range for this role is $277K - $346K + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401k)
