Job Description

Insight Global is currently seeking a Project Assistant to join a client in the commercial construction industry. This individual will support Project Managers and Estimator/Project Managers with the coordination and execution of commercial ceiling and specialty interior construction projects. Daily responsibilities include reviewing construction drawings, assisting with material takeoffs, maintaining project records, tracking submittals and RFIs, organizing project documentation, and supporting communication between field and office teams. The Project Assistant will help ensure project information is accurate, organized, and communicated effectively throughout the project lifecycle. This role provides exposure to estimating, project management, procurement, scheduling, and project controls while working alongside experienced construction professionals. The ideal candidate is hungry, coachable, team-oriented, and eager to learn in a collaborative environment that emphasizes culture, internal development, and long-term career advancement into future project management and leadership roles.

Skills and Requirements

  • 1-3 years of commercial construction, project coordination, estimating support, or project administration experience
  • Construction Management degree or equivalent construction industry experience
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and construction-related documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration and camaraderie
  • Demonstrated common sense and problem-solving ability
  • Desire to grow into Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager positions over time
  • Stable work history demonstrating long-term commitment and career growth potential
  • Experience with commercial ceilings, specialty interiors, wall panels, wood ceilings, wood wall panels, glass systems, access flooring, or column covers
  • Experience performing material takeoffs or supporting estimating efforts
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Autodesk products, or Procore
  • Experience supporting RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Experience working for a specialty subcontractor or general contractor
  • Drywall experience
  • Recent Construction Management graduate with internship or co-op experience
  • Candidates who can quickly learn estimating and project management fundamentals
  • Interest in pursuing long-term leadership opportunities within the organization
