Position Specific Description

As a Field Tech Leader, you will direct all PV Solar System operations for maintenance and repair. You will focus on performance and profitability within the framework of the operating plan including developing and executing strategy for improved maintenance, diagnostic, and operation to provide additional customer value and reduce cost of service.

Additional duties may include:

  • Implementing Operation Safety Policy Instructions, conducting field work in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) applicable regulations, encourage good employee safety practices, and drive an unparalleled employee safety culture

  • Participating and leading Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects

  • Recruiting, developing, retaining, leading, and advancing resources at sites driving professional standards and matrix development of team

  • Demonstrating responsibility for all phases of timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and turbine availability

  • Generate reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment conditions

  • Working closely with internal NextEra users to develop and implement operation focused feedback and solutions for planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development, and financial performance

  • Presenting a positive professional representation of NextEra Energy in the community and with the customer

  • Directing the performance of PV Solar Sytem operations within assigned contractual scope of responsibilities to external customers and/or stakeholders

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures, utilizing technical knowledge and monitoring tools

Job Overview

The Site Technician will support the Regional Manager or designee to ensure the perfect execution of the PGD processes. Site Technicians in a solar region perform duties in the following but are not limited to safety, contractor management, electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, overall site operations, asset management and regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reliability engineering

  • Warranty management

  • Operation and basic maintenance

  • Electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs

  • Safety and Environmental program stewardship

  • Supervisory duties of NEE employees and contractors

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs

  • Business duties and Inventory management

  • Heavy equipment operation

  • Regulatory compliance

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Experience: 5+ years

  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • Licensed Electrician

  • Licensed Master Electrician

  • Cable Locating Principles&Techniques Cer

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
