Job Summary Responsible for developing and implementing exercise programs for general and special populations including cardiac, diabetic, pulmonary, orthopedic and senior population and participating in health programs/promotion for Wellness Center participants, hospital employees, and the general community. Expected to assist Fitness Coordinator with managing Wellbridge, Medical Fitness transfers, and work directly with bariatric patients, as well as conducting personal training sessions.
Essential Functions

Provide general coverage of fitness floor, making yourself available to members as much as possible.

Promote personal training during assessments and orientations.

Gain and maintain personal training clients. Provide exercise programming and instruction while safely addressing the client's needs.

Assess the client’s functional capacity via fitness assessments, including sub-maximal VO2, muscular strength & flexibility, resting heart rate and blood pressure, cholesterol levels, circumference measurements and body composition for adolescent, adult and senior population.

Design and implement exercise programs for members predicted on their fitness assessment results and relevant medical history.

Help develop, promote and implement health education programs.

Perform medical referrals. Follow up with new members and transfers.

Conduct equipment orientations including proper demonstration and reasons for specific equipment usage.

Maintain and clean equipment in the cardiovascular and strength training area as assigned.

Demonstrates a personal and professional commitment to Wellness philosophy.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
- This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements

Education - Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science/Physiology

Experience - At least one (1) year experience in the fitness industry or hospital-based wellness facility preferred.

- Team members employed in this job prior to April 26, 2026, are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements: "Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science/Physiology preferred and one (1) year experience in the fitness industry or hospital-based wellness facility preferred."
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

ACSM, ACE personal training certification, or CSCS certification preferred.

Personal training and/or clinical trainer certification accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) preferred.
