Full job description
Forward Deployed Product Manager - Retail & Physical Ops — (On-Site / In-Field) Prove Napster's agents work in the hardest physical places.
Napster
Function: Product Reports To: CPO Location: Anywhere in US, NYC preferred
About Napster Napster offers lifelike AI agents that meet your customers wherever they are, and collaborate with your employees as coworkers. Agents that meet your customers on your website, inside your app, on a kiosk in a hospital lobby or a quick-service counter. And agents that work right next to your people, a real crew for every single employee.
The opportunity Napster's agents are moving off the screen and into the physical world: Station and Station Mini in hotels, stores, malls, venues, and front-of-house, the loud, high-traffic places where physical environments create real constraints: traffic, noise, uptime, staffing, and customer patience. You are the person who proves they work there. You work at the customer, turning live interest into a deployment that runs, a number that proves it, and a playbook that makes the next site faster than the last.
This is a forward-deployed role for someone who is comfortable on-site and hands-on with hardware and software, turns one-off deployments into a playbook, and has converted pilots into expanding accounts before.
In this role, you will
- Own the proof motion across physical environments: the deployments, the proof you capture on the ground, and the running product gap list.
- Build the next-account playbook that makes wins repeat.
- Produce the input pack that lets Product Marketing build from real proof.
Your first 90 days You stand up a deployment path, run it at a real site, capture the honest gaps, and package the first repeatability. By day 90 the test is simple: a deployed unit in real use, a metric that says whether it worked, and the start of a playbook.
How you'll know it's working A deployment that runs in a real site. Active usage once it is live. Honest product gaps captured. A repeatable site playbook the next account inherits.
Who you'll work with You partner with Sales on the buyer and the close, Customer Success on adoption, Partnership on the channel, and the product and marketing teams who turn your proof into roadmap and assets.
Competencies
- On-Site Operator. You are comfortable in loud, messy, high-traffic places, hands-on with hardware and software.
- Chaos to Motion. You turn one-off deployments into a repeatable playbook.
- AI-First Operator. You compress the path from pilot to deployment with AI: readiness checks, site configuration, and field feedback run through agentic workflows so your time goes to the floor, not the write-up.
- Gap Honesty. You capture what actually breaks and tell a real product gap from one site's wish.
- Pilot-to-Account. You have converted pilots into expanding accounts before.
- Cross-Functional Pull. You move Sales, Customer Success, and Product without owning them.
Why this is one of the best seats, period Most product roles never leave the building. This one is lived in the loud, messy places where the product has to earn it. If that sounds like the best part of the job, this is the seat.
