Description

We are looking for a leasing paralegal to join a growing legal team in Chicago, Illinois. This role focuses on supporting commercial leasing matters, including the preparation, review, and negotiation of lease agreements. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, practical business insight, and the ability to manage legal issues in a fast-paced environment.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Leasing Paralegal to support attorneys and real estate professionals in all aspects of commercial leasing transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing and preparing lease documentation, managing transaction timelines, coordinating with landlords and tenants, and maintaining accurate lease records. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and revise commercial lease agreements, amendments, renewals, estoppel certificates, SNDA agreements, and related leasing documents.

  • Coordinate lease execution processes and track critical transaction deadlines.

  • Review lease provisions and prepare summaries and abstracts of key terms.

  • Maintain and update lease databases, calendars, and document management systems.

  • Assist attorneys with lease negotiations and correspondence with landlords, tenants, brokers, and outside counsel.

  • Conduct due diligence reviews of leases and real estate-related documents.

  • Review title, survey, zoning, and property-related documents as needed.

  • Prepare reports regarding lease obligations, rent commencement dates, renewal options, and other critical dates.

  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical transaction files.

  • Support acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions involving leased properties.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and transaction procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of commercial real estate or leasing paralegal experience.

  • Strong understanding of commercial lease terminology and real estate transactions.

  • Experience with lease administration software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
