Job Description
This role will lead the architecture and technical vision for a global digital factory product suite, supporting highly complex manufacturing and repair/service environments across multiple regions. This individual will lead the strategy, governance, and execution of the organization's Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) roadmap across a global manufacturing footprint. They will partner with operations, engineering, IT, and executive leadership teams to standardize MES capabilities, drive Industry 4.0 initiatives, and establish scalable solutions that can be deployed across multiple facilities. Responsibilities include overseeing global MES implementations, managing vendor and system integrator relationships, developing manufacturing data strategies that support analytics and operational insights, and ensuring alignment between enterprise systems and plant-floor technologies. The Director will also lead cross-functional teams across multiple regions, champion digital transformation initiatives, and ensure manufacturing systems remain secure, compliant, and positioned to support future business growth.
Skills and Requirements
15+ years of experience within manufacturing IT/OT, digital manufacturing, industrial automation, or smart factory environments. 7+ years of leadership experience managing large-scale MES organizations, programs, or multi-site deployments. Extensive experience implementing and supporting enterprise Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) across multiple manufacturing facilities. Strong understanding of MES integrations with ERP platforms (SAP preferred), automation systems, PLCs, SCADA, and broader manufacturing ecosystems. Proven experience leading digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives within complex manufacturing environments. Experience developing global standards, governance models, and scalable deployment methodologies across multiple sites. Strong executive communication skills with the ability to align manufacturing, engineering, operations, and technology stakeholders. Experience supporting manufacturing operations across both North America and Europe. Familiarity with cloud-based manufacturing architectures, Azure environments, edge computing, and smart factory technologies. Knowledge of ISA-95 or similar enterprise-to-control system integration standards. Experience managing large capital budgets, vendor relationships, and system integrator partnerships. Background within highly regulated manufacturing environments such as aerospace, defense, medical device, or electronics manufacturing. Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and manufacturing compliance requirements (NIST, FDA, ISO, ITAR, etc.)
