Full job description

The Area Vice President of Operations role entails full responsibility for managing a group of branches within a specific business unit or geography, specifically the DBU CSSNA Northern Region. The leader will oversee service operations, with direct reports across multiple states. The customer base spans all market segments, (PowerGen, On-Highway, Off-Highway, Industrial).

We are looking for a talented Area Vice President of Operations to join our DBU CSSNA Northern Region, working from CT, NY, NJ or MA.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Serve as an active member of the Northern geography service operations Leadership Team, contributing to regional strategy, priorities, and organizational success across the CSSNA network.

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams through managers, driving talent development, succession planning, performance management, and leadership growth.

  • Own business performance by achieving balanced scorecard targets, managing profit and loss, optimizing asset utilization, and delivering profitable growth.

  • Develop and execute business plans aligned with strategic objectives, translating long-term vision into actionable operational goals and measurable results.

  • Provide leadership across multiple areas of business, ensuring effective execution of customer service, finance, quality, purchasing, materials management, and human resources processes.

  • Champion employee and work safety ensuring compliance to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Foster strong customer relationships, drive customer satisfaction, and identify opportunities to anticipate future customer needs and expand business opportunities.

  • Champion continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration, leading Six Sigma initiatives, resolving complex organizational challenges, and leveraging deep knowledge of regional operations and Cummins' global business capabilities.

. Education/Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Business or related field required. Advanced degree in Business or related field preferred.

  • Green Belt certified preferred.

  • Significant experience required, including managerial, product, customer, and budgetary experience.

Compensation
