Job Description The 2026/2027 Accounting Internship provides a comprehensive overview of our Accounting department, covering invoice processing, supplier communication, accounting automation projects, and monthly reconciliation processes.
Participants operate in a collaborative setting guided by dedicated mentors alongside students from various St. Louis business programs. This internship offers essential real-world experience designed to accelerate your professional trajectory.
Participants are required to work on-site 2 days per week (Monday-Thursday) during the academic year and 3-4 days per week throughout the summer, with flexible remote options for remaining days. We are looking for someone available around 20-30 hours per week.
This position is based in St. Louis, Missouri.
Essential Responsibilities

Review electronically processed invoices for payment accuracy.

Manually enter non-electronic vendor invoices.

Communicate with vendors and appropriate Schnucks teammates to resolve payment discrepancy amounts.

Ensure accurate cut off of vendor entry for the financial close process.

Complete weekly and/or period accounting entries.

Assist with special projects as needed.

Learn valuable workplace skills in a real-world environment.
Minimum Requirements

Required Education: Fall 2026/Spring 2027 enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree program, preferably in Accounting or Finance and completed at least 30 credit hours.

Available to work part-time (20-30 hours per week) during the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 school years and full-time during Summer 2027.

Interest in Schnucks advancement post-graduation.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient in Google and Microsoft applications.

Motivated to learn and detail oriented.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:
- Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
- Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
- Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
- If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
