Neuroendovascular Neurosurgeon | Clinical Faculty | Banner University Medicine Phoenix

Banner University Medical Group Phoenix, in partnership with the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix, is seeking a fellowship-trained Neuroendovascular Neurosurgeon to join our growing academic neurosurgery program at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and Banner University Medical Center Phoenix.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary neurosciences team providing comprehensive care for patients with complex cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions. The successful candidate will work alongside neurosurgeons, vascular neurologists, neurointensivists, neuroradiologists, APPs, residents, fellows, and other specialists within a robust academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center.

Clinical Opportunity

  • Provide comprehensive endovascular and cerebrovascular neurosurgical care for patients with complex neurovascular disease.

  • Diagnose and treat conditions including intracranial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulas, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, carotid disease, and other cerebrovascular pathology.

  • Perform advanced neuroendovascular procedures and participate in the open surgical management of cerebrovascular disease consistent with training and expertise.

  • Collaborate closely with vascular neurology, neurocritical care, neuroradiology, emergency medicine, and other neurosciences specialists in the management of complex and emergent cases.

  • Participate in the care of patients referred from throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and the broader Banner Health network.

Contribute to continued advancement of clinical pathways, quality initiatives, and evidence-based neurovascular care.

Banners Phoenix neurosurgery practice already provides care for aneurysms, AVMs, carotid stenosis, cavernous malformations and moyamoya, along with procedures including aneurysm clipping, AVM microsurgery and bypass surgery. The broader group includes specialists across endovascular, vascular, functional, spine, skull base and brain tumor neurosurgery.

Academic Opportunity

  • Faculty appointment with the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix, with academic rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Participate in the education and mentorship of neurosurgery residents, fellows, medical students, and other learners.

  • Opportunities to participate in clinical research, scholarly activity, and multidisciplinary academic initiatives.

  • Practice within an academic environment integrating advanced clinical care, education, research, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery.

  • Completion of an accredited Neuroendovascular/Endovascular Neurosurgery fellowship or equivalent advanced fellowship training.

  • Demonstrated expertise in endovascular treatment of cerebrovascular disease.

  • Experience with open cerebrovascular surgery is highly valued.

  • Eligible for unrestricted Arizona medical licensure.

  • Commitment to multidisciplinary care, education, and the academic mission.
