Deputy Oversight Board Liaison

Summary:

Meta's Content Policy team is seeking a Deputy Oversight Board Liaison for our Oversight Board Liaison team. This person will help review potential cases destined for the Board, draft submissions to the Board about Meta’s content policy decisions, and manage day-to-day case operations. We are looking for an analytical thinker with experience in law and advocacy (with an emphasis on legal writing) as well as strong project management skills. This position will focus on researching cases being appealed to the Board, understanding Meta's actions in those cases, explaining Meta's reasoning in written submissions to the Oversight Board, working with internal Meta teams to make process and policy improvements as appropriate, and organizing live briefings for Board members and staff.As a member of Meta's Content Policy Team, you will work closely with a highly talented and experienced team of subject matter experts on content and product policies. You will be responsible for understanding Meta’s policies and operations in order to best support the Board, our company, and the people who use our services. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and writing skills, will be able to critically analyze the tradeoffs and benefits of refinements to Meta's policies and processes, and will be able to communicate these issues effectively. The ideal candidate will also be a self-starter and able to work with other Meta employees to understand, and effectively communicate, Meta’s decision rationales to the Oversight Board.

Required Skills:

Deputy Oversight Board Liaison Responsibilities:

1. Work with teams across Meta to investigate cases chosen by the Oversight Board and identify potential cases to refer to the Board

2. Understand and articulate how Meta's values and policies apply to these cases, verbally and in writing

3. Manage day-to-day case operations, including tracking case milestones and deadlines

4. Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams such as Public Policy, Governance, Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Communications, Marketing, Partnerships, and Legal

5. Provide feedback to operational, policy, and other Meta teams to implement recommendations from the Oversight Board

6. This role may involve exposure to potentially graphic and/or objectionable content including but not limited to graphic images, videos, audio, and writings, offensive or derogatory language, self-injury, animal abuse, and other content which may be considered offensive or disturbing

1. Graduate degree in Law

2. 5+ years of experience in law, government, or public policy

3. Demonstrated analytical-thinking and problem-solving experience

4. Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders

5. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to draft persuasive written materials

6. Ability to work with potentially graphic and objectionable content

1. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

2. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

3. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

4. Experience in or with the technology industry, including social media content issues

5. Experience investigating and working on complex legal cases or policy issues

6. Experience working with civil rights or human rights topics, including freedom of expression

7. Experience working with and presenting to professionally diverse teams and audiences

Public Compensation:

$153,000/year to $224,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
