Full job description
Summary
This position will be assigned to the Air Force Service Center in San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.
Duties
Provides administrative support to the Air Force Family Child Care Expanded Child Care (AF FCC ECC) Program and community- based child care operations by serving as the focal point for internal and external customers. Enforces family child care program management policies and regulations to protect children and the Air Force. Maintains up-to-date information in the online systems (e.g., AF FCC Subsidy, myFSS, CYPBMS). Processes requests (e-mail, phone calls, myFSS cases) within 24 hours. Transmits and receives documents and messages electronically and telephonically. Informs and disseminates family child care regulatory information. Prepares briefings, bullet background papers, and other correspondence as required. Develops/updates marketing materials as needed. Anticipates need for information, gathers and summarizes information from files, and prepares material/ documents for use in responding to inquiries, recognizing which information is, or is not, relevant to issue at hand. Ensures provider's payments and tax information are processed on time. Tracks all system issues. Reviews and updates as needed online help documents. Develops, presents, and evaluates training specific to AF FCC ECC and community-based child care operations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with the A1SOC, community-based partners, and installation leadership/personnel, families, and providers. Encourages providers to seek accreditation from the National Association of Family Child Care and Child Development Credential. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Determines appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performs follow-up. Maintains the budget/ actual spreadsheet for each expense. In the absence of an FCC Coordinator at a Reserve or Guard Base, incumbent would serve as the FCC for the location. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a field of study related to child development. Must have progressive responsible experience working in child and youth programs and progressive responsible experience in early childhood settings. Progressive experience to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must have extensive Microsoft Office product experience. Experienced in effectively interacting and dealing with a variety of personnel including high-ranking military and civilian personnel. Must be experienced in the use of automation software and related equipment. Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
