The Operations Assistant will assist in all aspects of purchasing and inventory for an HDPE extruded plastics products factory. Additional assignments include driving safety activities throughout the plant, safety onboardings for new hires, entering production reports as necessary, purchasing for stock and non-items, performing and entering cycle counts, shipping and receiving functions. The candidate must have a hands-on background with EHS activities, purchasing and inventory tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions- Roles/Responsibilities

Operations Assistant/EHS supports:• Drive Safety activities for the plant by conducting audits/inspections regularly

  • Manage Safety Department with training, SOS/AMS requirements, AIC System and Safety Committee meeting.

  • Support external auditors related to environmental, health and safety matters

  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations

  • Safety Onboardings for new hires

  • Provide purchase orders to vendors that supply stock and non-stock items to the plant and schedule items to be delivered.

  • Receive in purchase orders and ensure that items arrive.

  • Interact and develop good working relationships with all plant employees and vendors.

  • Monitor Safety stocks of materials used and identify negative trends to determine corrective measures

  • Manage and update the list of vendors of items used.

  • Perform and enter cycle counts on a bi-monthly cycle into JDE.

  • Operate within JDE inventory system, database, and excel spreadsheet.

  • Maintain Training Matrix for the Plant

  • Any other activity the plant my need related to the previous points.

  • Good understanding of blow molding processes

  • Ability to work with all operating shifts to sustain safety initiatives

  • Able to provide feedback to leaders in a written or verbal manner to develop a safety culture across the floor.

  • Participate in all activities where EHS are involved

  • Maintain all plant required certifications up to date and all documents related to them

  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements• 3-5 years of experience as an office administrator or assistant, corporate receptionist, or related role. • High School diploma• Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks with limited direction• Ability to proactively drive key tasks and projects to completion, while also managing daily admin and facilities work with limited guidance on prioritization• Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organization skills• Proficiency of Microsoft Office applications and web browsers. Experience with Concur a plus.• Excellent standards of professionalism• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Demonstrated desire to add value to the organization by your contributions and quality of work

Preferred Education and Experience• Accounts payable, billing, or related experience

Targeted Pay Rate:

$24.00
