Summary
The position assists with the development and coordination of data systems, supports automated workpaper processes, contributes to routine budget and resource tracking, helps identify training requirements, and performs related administrative support tasks. Location of position: Office of Inspector General Administration and Data Systems Staff (JAS) 1800 F Street NW Washington, D.C. 20405 We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
The Program Analyst assists in the OIG's mission by providing timely, cost effective, professional, and useful products and services to clients and stakeholders. Runs standard AMIS queries, verifies data accuracy, identifies routine discrepancies, and provides basic user assistance; coordinates access changes and supports scheduled maintenance under supervisory guidance. Prepares recurring audit status and operational reports using established methods; extracts GPRA/SAR data; produces ad hoc summaries requiring moderate analysis; ensures accuracy and timeliness. Briefs management on assigned tasks; explains standard AMIS/TIS procedures; provides project status updates; assists with training coordination and system access requests. Reviews audit products for accuracy prior to release; updates AMIS fields; supports quality control procedures; reviews procurement requests, tracks routine budget items, and assists with electronic workpaper testing. Requirements
If selected, you must meet the following conditions: Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C or Non-Career SES employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the HR Office. Failure to disclose this information could result in disciplinary action including removal from Federal Service. Serve a one year probationary period, if required. Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 2 investigation level). Complete a financial disclosure report to verify that no conflict, or an appearance of conflict, exists between your financial interest and this position. Qualifications
The GS-09 salary range starts at $ 70,623 to per year. The GS-07 salary range starts at $57,736 per year. Additional Requirements for Qualification at the GS-09 level: To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience in research and investigation of new and improved business and management practices which included the following: assisting in conducting studies of statistical, descriptive, or evaluative information, materials, and data; assisting in the preparation and delivery of briefings to management and/or senior staff employees on study findings and recommendations; and interpretation and application of acquisition regulations and principles. Or master's or equivalent graduate degree; Or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; Or LL.B. or J.D., if in the related field. Additional Requirements for Qualification at the GS-07 level: To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level or higher in Federal service. Specialized experience is experience gathering data and applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify and resolve issues/problems relating to business and management practices and procedures, organizational structure, and/or work processes; compiling and presenting data orally and/or in writing; and interpreting and applying regulations and/or policies. Or 1 full year of graduate level education, Or superior academic achievement
How You Will Be Evaluated
You will be evaluated on the questions you answer during the application process, which will measure your possession of the following competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities. Your responses to these questions must be supported by your resume or your score may be lowered. A panel of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will review the applications of qualified candidates and assign a score for each of the four required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) based on the experience documented in the resume and narrative responses. Applies standard analytical methods, procedures, regulations, and policies relevant to assigned program work. Collects, reviews, and summarizes qualitative and quantitative data to support findings and conclusions. Uses agency automated systems and tools to gather, organize, and analyze program and management information. Communicates clearly in verbal and written formats; prepares concise summaries, reports, and brief explanations for varied audiences. Demonstration of these KSAs must be supported by your resume. Applicants should also make note of each KSA, as the narrative response(s) you provide later in the application process must also support these KSAs. Consideration will be given to performance appraisals and incentive awards in merit promotion selection decisions in accordance with 5 CFR 335.103(b)(3). You should list any relevant performance appraisals and incentive awards in your resume so that information will be taken into consideration during the selection process.
