Full job description
The Production Control Support Specialist’s primary roles are to provide various administrative and or technical services to the manufacturing operation that support, control and expedite incoming materials, customer production orders, production layout, packaging and shipping of products to customers, cycle counts, distribution of information or reports. The PCSS also may be responsible for the ordering of materials and or equipment to ensure continuous operation for manufacturing. The PCSS should have a firm understanding of all commodities and inventory levels to ensure accuracy and forecasting. -The PCSS often interacts with Manufacturing Management, Maintenance, Customer Service, and Production Operations and in some cases Customers or Suppliers to ensure continuous communication for manufacturing. The PCSS will work within the parameters of the SA Production Control, Supply Chain and Shipping and Receiving team. -Although day to day roles may differ, the PCSS is usually a functional position that ensures continuous flow of Manufacturing orders and or responds to customer issues
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required of the Production Control Support Specialist. Functions performed may include but are not limited to; Planning/scheduling, expediting, production control, inventory management, job order processing, and creating shipping documents. Daily production order release, print and distribution, auditing for compliance to internal procedures and correcting anomalies, preparing expedite documentation, support in inventory management, creating production orders, and material master maintenance.
Knowledge of business’ products, their specifications and manufacturing process, parts, materials, and equipment.
Produces various reports, work orders, production records, charts, graphs, change orders, inventory records and more depending on the business supported
Production ordering systems, computer-based software applications such as MS Office, SAP, Shop Vue, Access Database, Bar Code systems, printers, copiers, Paper Vision, WCC, Dozuki, Ignition, general office equipment. Knowledge of production machinery capabilities and capacity work flow.
Arrange for delivery, assembly, and distribution of supplies and parts in order to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
Audit daily planned production order release and make corrections as required. Cross reference dating sequence.
Confer with Customer Service regarding sales orders and production orders. Transfer and issue material to maintain traceability and proper inventory management. Follow up to ensure commitments are met.
Generate replace production orders using SAP and other reports. Manually generate replace production orders and MRO’s and test orders as requested by engineering.
Monitor inventory locations and issue inventory as needed to support proper inventory management.
Participate in annual Physical Inventory audit for Raw Material, Work in Process and Finished Goods. Audit WIP inventory for compliance to reporting.
Provide documentation and information to allow answers to expedites to be generated and enter responses into SAP and NADI
Work as liaison with customer service to find best possible solution to improve order ship dates, production order modification and other requests by customer service. Document decisions on paperwork/sales order and reply to customer service.
Calculate figures such as required amounts of labor and materials, manufacturing costs, and wages, using pricing schedules, adding machines, calculators, or computers.
Compile, prepare and distribute documentation related to production sequences, transportation, personnel schedules, and purchase, maintenance, and repair orders.
Compile and distribute data reflecting the status of business metrics, which may include but not limited to, safety, service, quality, and productivity.
Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used and customer information, so that status reports can be completed.
Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discusss needed changes. Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
Generate production orders, update Engineering Change Notification orders, and maintain inventory levels and production schedules.
Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
Establish and prepare product construction directions and locations, and information on required tools, materials, and equipment, numbers of workers needed, and cost projections.
Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
Maintain files such as maintenance records, bills of lading, and cost reports.
Plan production commitments and timetables for business units, specific programs, and/or jobs, using sales forecasts.
Provide documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, and changes to cost estimates.
Record production data, including volume produced consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
-Work as liaison with factory supervision to find best possible solution to improve order ship dates as requested by customer service. Document decisions on paperwork/sales order and reply to customer service within 24 hours.
Create & review backlog reports to identify late orders and work with factory supervision to determine action plan to move orders to completion.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a machining environment.
Proficient with personal computers, Microsoft Office, and SAP systems. Support and participation in WCM projects and ISO Audits. Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Strong decision making and analytical abilities. Strong detail orientation Team oriented. Willingness to stride to learn and improve knowledge base. Flexible. Willing to self-motivate and learn outside normal parameters

The hourly pay for this position will range from $28.92-$31.32 per hour depending on skill level brought to the position. This is a first shift position so does not include a shift differential, however if ever required to work off shift, the shift differential for second shift is $1.50 and for third shift it is $2.00. This position is also overtime eligible. Monthly bonus payments are variable depending on individual and plant KPIs.
