Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Dual Hat QC/SSHO to join one of our federal contracting clients supporting a newly awarded healthcare facility renovation project in Bremerton, WA. This individual will serve as both the Quality Control Manager (QCM) and Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO), overseeing all project quality and safety functions from project kickoff through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background with experience supporting healthcare, commercial, or federal construction projects. This individual will be responsible for implementing the project quality control program, conducting inspections, maintaining project documentation, enforcing safety requirements, and serving as the primary point of contact for all quality and safety-related matters onsite. This is a fully onsite position requiring five days per week onsite. Candidates must be open to travel and relocation to future project sites following project completion.
Project Scope The Dual Hat QC/SSHO will oversee construction activities including: •Replacement and upgrades of electrical systems •Civil construction and site earthwork improvements •Relocation and installation of air handling units •Installation of new HVAC condensers •Overhead paging system upgrades •Re-keying and security-related exterior door improvements •Miscellaneous facility infrastructure and renovation work
Responsibilities •Manage all project quality control and site safety activities throughout the duration of the project •Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Control Plan •Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections for all phases of work •Ensure construction activities meet project specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards •Perform daily site safety inspections and document findings •Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and project safety briefings •Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure compliance with project quality and safety requirements •Track and document deficiencies and oversee corrective actions through resolution •Maintain quality control reports, inspection logs, safety documentation, and project records •Review submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications for compliance •Interface with project leadership, subcontractors, owners, and government representatives •Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover requirements •Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and quality across the project team
Skills and Requirements
•Minimum 10 years of construction experience •Minimum 5 years serving as a QC and SSHO on projects of similar size and complexity •5 recent years of healthcare construction experience •Experience managing renovation projects in occupied healthcare environments •Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor management. •Ability to travel and work onsite for the duration of the project •Experience with federal healthcare or military healthcare projects. •Current ASHE (American Society for Health Care Engineering) certification. •Current or previously held CQM (Construction Quality Management) certification. •Knowledge of EM 385-1-1 safety requirements. •Experience managing MEP-intensive renovation projects.
