We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team within our school district. The Substitute Teacher wilKelly Education is hiring Substitute staff for Rock Hill Schools!

Responsibilities:

  • Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies. This includes:

  • Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans

  • Instructing students on a variety of classroom topics/courses

  • Building positive relationships

  • Assigning reasonable tasks and homework

  • Motivate students to learn, and encourage classroom participation

  • Create a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students

  • Adapt to the various learning styles of students

  • For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction and engagement.

  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special education requirements or autism spectrum disorders.

  • Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance lesson delivery and student participation.

  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.

  • Follow school policies, mandated reporting laws, and confidentiality standards diligently.

  • Support curriculum implementation across subjects such as literacy education, math, early childhood education, and Montessori methods where applicable.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share best practices and improve instructional approaches.

  • Assist with classroom setup, organization, and basic childcare duties as needed.

  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling across different classrooms and grade levels.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children in educational settings or childcare environments.

  • Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.

  • Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those requiring special education support.

  • Familiarity with instructional adaptability for early childhood education or preschool settings.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.

  • Ability to adhere to school policies, including mandated reporting laws related to child safety.

  • Competence in using computers and educational technologies to facilitate instruction.

  • Experience working with individuals with autism or in private school environments is advantageous.

  • Background in literacy education, math instruction, or Montessori methods is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators committed to student success.
