Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing Bridges & Structures team in our New York offices – Albany, Buffalo, or Rochester .
Our Bridges & Structures group is recognized for delivering innovative, award-winning engineering solutions on a diverse portfolio of transportation infrastructure projects throughout New York State. We partner with federal, state, municipal, and rail clients to design, rehabilitate, and enhance critical infrastructure ranging from local roadway bridges and culverts to complex movable and long-span bridge systems. Our team is actively involved in projects that improve connectivity, safety, and mobility for communities across the state, providing employees the opportunity to work on challenging, high-visibility assignments while collaborating with some of the industry's most respected bridge and structural engineering professionals.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical design and assigned staff on bridge projects.

Develop work plans for bridge designs while coordinating with other disciplines.

Perform cost estimating, develop specifications/construction documents, and lead construction phase support tasks.

Assist in the mentoring and development of design staff.

Participate in the development and updates of internal standards of practices.

Perform quality control and assurance checks on design computations, computer modeling, CAD drawings, reports, estimates and specifications.

Serve as a point of contact for clients, other design professionals, and contractors.

Act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects.

Assist in the development of technical narratives, scope and fee for project pursuits.

May serve on professional association committees.

May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required; masters degree is a plus.
-
8+ years of professional design engineering work related to bridges or structures is required.

PE license is required in New York State (or through reciprocity).

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation is a plus.

Strong work ethic and willingness for continued learning.

Knowledge of NYSDOT, AASHTO and AREMA design codes a plus.

Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation: $88,400 to $111,100 per year (Depending on Qualifications)
