Full job description

Job Title: Rehabilitation Services Aide Department: Rehabilitation Services SUMMARY The Rehab Services Aide is primarily responsible for providing supportive patient care activities, working under direct supervision in the patient treatment areas including the gym, treatment rooms and on nursing floor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Available and accessible for supervised hands-on assistance. + Prepare and clean patient treatment areas in an organized and timely manner. + Monitors and assists with gym activities. + Clean/maintain equipment per protocol. + Maintain medical supply inventory. + Monitor and restock linen. + Maintain adequate inventory in the treatment rooms. + Assists with patient transfer/transport to and from Rehab Services department. + Assist all Rehab staff with routine treatment set up (modalities, foot orthotics, exercise, wound care). + Provide back-up for Rehab Department Secretary. + Perform clerical duties as requested by Department Manager. + Supports the policies and procedures of the organization and the standards of the Joint Commission as required for full accreditation. + Considers age-related factors when dealing with patients ranging from neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies and procedures. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Medical Health Aide experience preferred; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
