Full job description

Hand & Stone is seeking an experienced Multi-Unit Esthetics Leader to oversee and grow the Esthetics Departments across five Austin-area spa locations.

This is not simply an esthetician position with added responsibilities. It is a multi-unit business and people leadership role for someone who understands the esthetics industry and knows how to turn great teams into high-performing departments.

The ideal candidate brings three things to the table:

Esthetics expertise. Strong team leadership. Proven business and sales acumen.

You’ll partner with ownership, spa managers, and location-level Esthetics Leads to develop teams, drive department performance, strengthen education, and create a consistent, exceptional esthetics experience across all five locations.

THE OPPORTUNITY

If you've mastered the treatment room and are ready to expand your impact, this role gives you the opportunity to influence an entire market.

You'll have ownership and influence over:

  • 5 spa locations

  • Esthetics department performance and growth

  • Lead Esthetician development

  • Licensed Esthetician coaching and performance

  • Advanced treatment and retail sales

  • New-hire onboarding and training

  • Continuing education and career development

  • Inventory and product management

  • Department standards and operational consistency

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys leading leaders, developing people, analyzing results, solving business challenges, and building successful teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Multi-Unit Business Leadership

  • Oversee the performance and development of Esthetics Departments across five locations

  • Establish and drive goals for facial services, advanced treatments, upgrades, retail, retention, and other key performance indicators

  • Review location and individual performance to identify trends and opportunities

  • Develop action plans to improve underperforming areas and capitalize on growth opportunities

  • Partner with ownership and spa leadership on esthetics strategy and business initiatives

  • Create consistency in standards and execution across all locations

Lead & Develop Teams

  • Coach and develop location-level Esthetics Leads and Licensed Estheticians

  • Build strong leaders who can effectively coach and manage their individual teams

  • Establish clear expectations and accountability around performance

  • Conduct and support quarterly Licensed Esthetician evaluations

  • Recognize high performers while creating development plans when additional support is needed

  • Help create a positive, professional, high-performance culture across all five locations

Drive Sales & Client Experience

  • Lead strategies to grow advanced treatment, service upgrade, and retail performance

  • Coach teams on consultations, treatment planning, home-care recommendations, and client retention

  • Help Estheticians connect excellent clinical recommendations with strong business results

  • Monitor performance and create targeted coaching based on individual and location needs

Own Training & Development

  • Coordinate the Licensed Esthetician new-hire experience, including onboarding and initial training

  • Support ongoing technical, product, sales, and leadership education

  • Coordinate training opportunities with professional skincare partners and educators

  • Participate in conferences, vendor education, and professional development opportunities

  • Ensure teams remain current on treatment protocols, products, technologies, and service standards

Manage Department Operations

  • Oversee professional and retail product inventory and ordering

  • Monitor professional product and supply usage

  • Support payroll, licensing, liability insurance, SOAP note, and department compliance audits

  • Maintain consistent operational and professional standards across locations

  • Meet regularly with ownership, Spa Managers, and Esthetics Leads to review results and priorities

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who understands that running a successful Esthetics Department requires more than being great at skincare.

You need to understand the business behind it.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • 2–4+ years of leadership or management experience

  • Experience leading teams, departments, or multiple locations

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand KPIs and turn results into action

  • A proven record of sales, retail, service upgrades, and goal achievement

  • An active Esthetics license with professional treatment experience

  • Experience coaching, training, and developing other professionals

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Confidence holding teams accountable while maintaining a positive culture

  • Excellent organization and follow-through

  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities across multiple locations

  • Strong knowledge of professional skincare, services, and product lines

  • Professional liability insurance

Multi-unit leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Leadership experience within spa, beauty, wellness, retail, hospitality, or another sales and service-driven business is also highly valued.

SCHEDULE & TRAVEL

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week multi-unit leadership position supporting five Austin-area Hand & Stone locations.

The role requires:

  • Regular presence across all five locations

  • One weekend day per week

  • One evening shift per week

  • Flexibility to support trainings, meetings, events, and business needs across the market

  • Hands on service shifts

BENEFITS

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance

  • 401(k)

  • Supplemental Insurance

  • Paid Vacation

  • Flexible Scheduling

  • Employee Discounts on Products & Services

  • Employee Rewards Program

  • Leadership growth within an established and expanding organization

READY TO LEAD AT THE NEXT LEVEL?

If you're an experienced esthetics professional who wants to move beyond managing your own book of business and into multi-unit leadership, team development, and business growth, we'd love to meet you.

Bring your esthetics expertise. Build great leaders. Grow five businesses.
