Summary
As a Supervisory Equal Opportunity Investigator (Enforcement) at the GS-1860-13, you will be part of the Washington Field Office, Office of Field Programs, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). If selected, you will be responsible for directing a team of employees who investigate and resolve cases for the lead civil rights agency responsible for enforcing federal laws that prohibit employment discrimination.
Duties
- Manages the workload of a staff of investigators and clerical employees.
- Supervises and evaluates the performance of a staff of investigators and clerical employees.
- Monitors all enforcement and case development and educational/outreach activities in order to meet agency goals.
- Trains employees in investigative skills and techniques including analysis, interviewing, fact-finding, on-site inspections and negotiations.
- Reviews work products of team members to ensure that quality standards are met.
- Responds to correspondence and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
For the GS-13: You must have at least one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience includes experience analyzing, researching, and evaluating employment discrimination laws, regulations, or policies; planning and establishing priorities; and conducting investigations of employment discrimination. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Under Rule of Many, a numerical ranking process is used to evaluate applicants through validated assessments to produce a numeric score. Veterans' preference points are added to the passing score of candidates eligible for either 10-point or 5-point preference. We will provide the selecting official with a sufficient number of names, when available, to consider at least three candidates per vacancy. If fewer than three eligible and available candidates per vacancy result, we will expand the group in accordance with our pre-announced supplement strategy and OPM policy.
