Summary
The Administrative Officer acts as a full partner with the Deputy Chief Engineer for the management and administration of the Facilities Management Service (FMS/Engineering). This position is located at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS), which is a major inpatient and outpatient healthcare system serving the Las Vegas metropolitan area.

THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION This position serves as staff support to the Office of the Chief, both the Chief and Assistant Chief, Office of the Chief of Facilities Management Service (FMS/Engineering). The primary purpose of the position is to direct and perform all administrative functions that include the administration of human resource management, budget and finance management, program management, and document control management, not limited to: suspenses, medical center memorandums and policies, meeting minutes, and any internal and external communication to federal, state, and local agencies. Performs other related duties, as assigned by the Office of the Chief, Facilities Management Service (FMS/Engineering). Major areas of responsibility include: Supervision and Administrative/Personnel Management. Budgeting and Financial Management. Procurement, Contracting, Supply, and Inventory Management. Program Analysis and Special Projects. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized. Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in Federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include: overseeing the operations of an office, program, or department; planning workloads and delegating responsibilities; evaluating employee performance and providing training as needed; performing budget and financial management duties; coordinating the acquisition of supplies and services and managing inventories; and managing contracts. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your qualifications will be evaluated based on your application materials (e.g., resume, supporting documents), your responses on the application questionnaire, and your responses to all assessments required for this position. You must meet or exceed the cut score to be considered. You will not be considered for the position if you score below the cut score or fail to complete the assessment. Your experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
