We are looking for an Advanced Relay & AutomationArea Lead to join our team in Wendell, NC.

The Advanced Relay & Automation Area Lead is responsible for supporting daily operations within the SIPROTEC 5 production area while helping drive safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity objectives. This role serves as a first-line leader for the production team, coordinating day-to-day activities, supporting employee development, and ensuring production goals are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.

The ideal candidate is a motivated manufacturing professional with strong communication skills, a passion for continuous improvement, and a desire to develop leadership skills within a fast-paced production environment.

Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support production schedules and business requirements.

Cross-Functional Support:

This position serves as a cross-functional resource between the SIPROTEC 5 production area and the Relay Repair Center (RER). The Area Lead will be expected to complete the required competencies, certifications, and training necessary to function as an active backup for Repair Center Technician activities, providing operational support as business needs and production priorities require.

You'll Make an Impact By:

  • Coordinating daily production activities within the SIPROTEC 5 manufacturing area to meet safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity targets.

  • Supporting and providing day-to-day direction to production employees while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitoring area performance and helping resolve issues that impact quality, output, or customer delivery.

  • Supporting staffing, training, cross-training, and employee development activities to build a flexible and capable workforce.

  • Maintaining and driving adherence to standardized work, visual management systems, and Siemens manufacturing processes.

  • Reviewing operational metrics and supporting corrective actions to improve overall performance.

  • Collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to support production objectives and resolve production challenges.

  • Assisting with inventory management, material flow, and production scheduling activities.

  • Participating in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions related to safety, quality, and delivery issues.

  • Supporting localization initiatives, new product introductions, and process improvement projects.

  • Leading by example and fostering a positive work environment that promotes employee engagement and operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production,operations, or technical environment.

  • Previous experience serving as a team lead, trainer,project leader, or informal leader within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong communication, organizational, andproblem-solving skills.

  • Abilityto sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the workday.

  • Abilityto work within both office and manufacturing environments.

  • Abilityto handle and transport materials, components, and equipment as required.

  • Abilityto occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.

  • Ability to analyze production issues and make sounddecisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuousimprovement.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employmentwithin the United States without the need for current or future employer -sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in amanufacturing environment.

  • Experience in electrical, electronics, automation, orindustrial manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, orcontinuous improvement principles.

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.

  • Experience monitoring production KPIs and supportingimprovement initiatives.

  • Understanding of inventory control, materialmanagement, and production planning concepts.

  • Experience supporting employee training anddevelopment.

  • Familiarity with protective relays, powerdistribution products, automation systems, or similar technical products.

  • Manufacturing experience preferred; continuousimprovement experience is a plus.
