PAY SCALE: $35.00 - $37.00 per hour, based on experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assist and support Adult Ed classroom instructors.

Per Diem - Tuesday & Thursday evenings. Alternate days as needed.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Student Support & Retention

  • Provide direct support to students experiencing academic, behavioral, attendance, transportation, childcare, employment, or personal challenges in collaboration with the daytime advisor.

  • Conduct regular check-ins with students to monitor progress and identify barriers that may impact program completion.

  • Collaborate with instructors and program staff to address student concerns and promote a positive learning environment.

  • Connect students with community resources and support services when appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation related to student interventions and support services.

Social-Emotional & Behavioral Support

  • Utilize student-centered practices to support adult learners.

  • Assist students in developing employability skills, professionalism, communication, and workplace readiness.

  • Respond to student concerns and help de-escalate behavioral or interpersonal issues that arise during evening programs.

  • Foster an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment for all learners.

Enrollment & Recruitment Support

  • Conduct follow-up outreach to prospective students and enrollment leads.

  • Guide prospective students through the process of identifying a program of interest and starting the enrollment process by signing up for an entrance assessment.

  • Support recruitment events and outreach efforts as needed.

Employment & Grant Reporting Follow-Up

  • Conduct post-program follow-up with graduates regarding employment status, job placement, retention, wages, credentials earned, and other program outcomes.

  • Collect and document required data to support grant reporting, performance measures, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Support workforce development of performance metrics related to enrollment, completion, placement, and retention.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Experience working with adult learners, workforce development programs, career and technical education, counseling, case management, or student support services preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Collaborate with daytime advisors

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and students facing barriers to employment and education.

  • Strong organizational and data management skills.

  • Knowledge of employability skills, career pathways, and labor market trends.

  • Familiarity with grant-funded programs and outcome reporting requirements.

  • Understanding of welcoming, supportive environments and student retention strategies.

  • Experience with customer service, outreach, recruitment, or enrollment processes preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database/student record systems.

Educational:

  • Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred in Counseling, Education, Workforce Development, or Work Based Learning.
