Webster City CSD is seeking a Full-Time Preschool Paraeducator for our 4-Year-Old Classroomswho loves early childhood education and wants to be part of a supportive team focused on helping our youngest learners grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

Please note: This is a full-time paraeducator role dedicated exclusively to supporting our 4-year-old preschool classrooms.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the building principal and direction of the classroom teacher, the Preschool Paraeducator works full-time in the 4-year-old preschool setting. This role is vital in supporting instruction, student engagement, classroom management, and daily routines to ensure a safe, structured, and welcoming learning environment.

What You'll Do

  • Support certified classroom teachers in delivering instruction and managing daily classroom routines

  • Work directly with individual students or small groups during play-based activities and learning centers

  • Assist with classroom management, transitions, and daily routines

  • Help implement learning activities, social-emotional guidance, and positive behavior interventions

  • Help maintain a safe, clean, structured, and welcoming classroom environment

  • Build nurturing and supportive relationships with students

  • Assist with student supervision across classroom activities, meal/snack times, and outdoor play

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff

  • Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing approach to young children

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and teamwork skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Previous experience working with young children or in a school setting preferred

  • Health certificate on file

  • Child abuse certificate on file

Physical Demands

Active classroom environment requiring standing, walking, sitting on the floor, movement, and lifting of classroom materials and equipment. Work is performed in a standard school and early childhood classroom setting.
