Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Transportation division. We are looking for a Bulk Trucking Sourcing Specialist, experienced to complete our team. You must be customer-focused, with excellent communication, project management, and change management skills.  Must have the ability to influence internal customers, build relationships, and lead change efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Select and manage carrier relationships for liquid bulk shipping commodities.

  • Negotiate market competitive pricing and align with business outlooks.

  • Manage capacity and service expectations.

  • Analyze current transportation practices to resolve process and cost improvement opportunities

  • Work with facilities and trading teams on truck transportation requirements and align vendors based on requirements.

  • Manage carrier relationships and build long-term partnerships.

  • Monitor carrier/fleet performance/KPI’s and take corrective action to reverse negative trends and maintain required service levels.

  • Update transportation websites and databases for contracts, freight rates, and estimates, insurance information, customer information, etc.

  • Deliver value goals by using knowledge of the transportation industry to make recommendations to strengthen customer and carrier/fleet relations through continuous improvement.

  • Optimization of our CHS assets.

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Strategic Sourcing

Additional Qualifications

  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.

  • Technical, associate degree or higher.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

  • Excellent communication and time management skills.

  • Negotiation training or transportation pricing experience

  • Detail-oriented, time management, prioritization & multi-tasking capabilities.

  • Ability to collect and evaluate data sets.

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
