Division: Environmental Health Section: Bureau of Community and Children's Environmental Health Location: 7411 Park Place Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., some nights and weekends as needed* Subject to change
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides oral and/or written information regarding the lead-based paint program to the community at large.

Develops and maintains a filing and tracking system covering disseminated information, referrals, requests, and complaints.

Performs home site visits and and conducts intake assessment for residents to determine eligibility for Lead Based Paint Hazard Reduction Program

Establishes and maintains open lines of communication by personal contact with neighborhood groups, volunteer organizations, and the general public.

Serves as a resource to the general public, responding to inquiries and providing information on the various types of departmental services, programs, and projects.

Disseminates and collects required program documentation

This position is 50% or greater exposed to outdoor elements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration or a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two (2) years of experience in community organizational work, resource and referral services, or a closely related field are required.
SUBSTITUTION: Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS NonePreference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
Preferences will be given to individuals with the following experience:• Health Education
- Customer service
- Home visiting
- Lead Hazard Reduction
PHYSICAL EFFORT: The position is physically comfortable, the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc
SELECTION/SKILLS TESTS REQUIRED None However, the Department may administer a skills assessment test.
SAFETY IMPACT POSITION Yes If yes, this position is subject to random drug testing and if candidate is promoted into this position, he/she must pass an assigned drug test.
SALARY INFORMATION Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
Pay Grade 18
