Compensation: $22 - $30/hr

Work Model: Onsite – onsite

System One is seeking a Security Tech to join our team for a contract to hire opportunity in Melbourne, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Install and terminate Access Control System (ACS) equipment and associated cabling.

  • Install and connect control panels, power supplies, and field devices.

  • Install and wire card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, Request-to-Exit (REX) devices, door position switches (DPS), door contacts, and related door hardware.

  • Test and troubleshoot access control devices and wiring.

  • Assist with system commissioning and troubleshooting.

  • Install and terminate Intrusion Detection System (IDS) equipment and cabling.

  • Install control panels, power supplies, and field devices for IDS.

  • Install and wire motion detectors, door contacts, glass-break detectors, panic/duress devices, and other intrusion detection devices.

  • Test, troubleshoot, and verify proper operation of installed systems.

  • Install interior and exterior CCTV cameras and associated equipment.

  • Install camera mounts, brackets, cabling, and related infrastructure.

  • Properly position and aim cameras based on project requirements.

  • Terminate and test camera connections.

  • Troubleshoot camera, cabling, and connectivity issues.

  • Work with IP-based video surveillance systems and network infrastructure as required.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, security drawings, floor plans, and installation specifications.

  • Pull, route, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling.

  • Maintain clean and organized installations.

  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, electricians, network teams, and other trades.

  • Follow project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable safety standards.

  • Document completed installations and identify any issues requiring additional work.

Requirements

  • Experience installing commercial electronic security systems.

  • Hands-on experience with Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV systems.

  • Strong understanding of low-voltage cabling and termination.

  • Ability to read blueprints and security system drawings.

  • Experience working in commercial construction or data center environments.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

Preferred / Helpful Experience

  • Security system programming and configuration

  • Video intercom systems

  • IP-based CCTV systems

  • Fiber optic termination and splicing

  • Manufacturer-specific certifications

  • Access control programming

  • CCTV/VMS programming and configuration

  • Experience with network-connected security devices

Work Environment

  • Commercial, industrial, and construction environments

  • Interior and exterior installation work

  • May require working from ladders, lifts, ceilings, and elevated work areas

  • May require travel to project sites depending on project requirements

  • Ability to lift and move equipment, cabling, tools, and related materials as needed
