Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating fabrication equipment used for grinding, polishing, drilling, deburring, measuring, and light assembly. This role involves loading materials, operating machinery, inspecting finished parts, and supporting production operations while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication equipment for grinding, polishing, drilling, deburring, and measuring processes

• Load raw materials into machines and unload finished products

• Inspect parts and verify quality using measuring tools and equipment

• Perform light assembly work as needed

• Handle sheet metal and other materials safely and efficiently

• Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances

• Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet quality standards

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Support general production and fabrication operations as needed

Essential Skills

• Minimum 6 months of machine operating experience

• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure

• Experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or production environment

• Basic knowledge of sheet metal and fabrication processes

• Ability to follow work instructions and maintain quality standards

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Strong attention to detail and work ethic

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carol Stream, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $20.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
