Job Description

AECOM is looking to hire an Assistant Construction Project Manager to support AECOM's ongoing multi-year program management contract with Georgia Port Authority (GPA). GPA is one of the fastest-growing ports in the nation and a major force in global trade with a staggering $4.5 billion in planned investments over the next decade. You will be joining an established team and support the Construction Program Manager in the procurement, oversight, and inspection for the delivery of a wide variety of projects including electrical and communication systems, complex marine terminals, container gates, container yards, intermodal rail, utilities, and other port/marine-related engineering projects. Under moderate supervision, assists with overall management administration to large-scale, complex projects and assists in establishing project-specific objectives and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training.

  • Interacts with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.

  • May be engaged in hiring subcontractors, monitoring change orders, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, negotiating solutions to major issues raised during construction that cannot be resolved on the job site at the Superintendent level.

  • May interface with design team.

  • May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.

  • Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, provides assistance and reporting on all facets of the project to ensure all facets are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS in construction, engineering, or project management or related field

  • 4 years of construction project management or related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • A valid US driver’s license to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices and pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

Preferred:

  • Experience with construction contract administration, procurement processes, subcontractor coordination, and change order management.

  • Experience with project management and construction technology tools

  • Experience in port, marine terminal, transportation, utility, or industrial infrastructure construction projects.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $90000 to $130000.
