Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly and Installation) (Experienced or Senior)

Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly and Installation) (Experienced or Senior) (Level 3 or 4) to join our team in Sylmar, California.

Spectrolab’s factory is located in the north side of Los Angeles, offering access to the city’s world-class culture, dining, and entertainment. The Sylmar location provides convenient “reverse commute” options for people living across the San Fernando Valley—from Sherman Oaks to Pasadena—as well as straightforward commutes from Santa Clarita and other northern Los Angeles County areas. Spectrolab offers a break from the famously difficult Los Angeles commutes.
Position Responsibilities:

Develops and implements production processes and generates/maintains process documentation to ensure correct and consistent process application in production
-
Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions
-
Participates in gated process/product reviews and presents PFMECA and process/training readiness information to both internal and external customers

Leads and implements manufacturing plans and assists in developing and maintaining manufacturing training requirements
-
Supports definition of required tooling methodologies to ensure consistent process application
-
Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements
-
Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices

Identifies leading edge technologies, materials or process improvements and targeted automation to improve ergonomics, safety, cost, and schedule

Develops and monitors SPC and process paretos to identify and correct process drift and identify and implement continuous improvements to product and process

Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
-
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
-
3+ years of experience in assembly or mechanical work
-
Must be able to occasionally travel domestically, work flexible hours, overtime and occasional weekends when necessary
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
-
Senior (Level 4): 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
-
Experience leading RCCA investigations
-
Experience in hands on troubleshooting & resolving of process and/or test

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Experienced (Level 3) Summary pay range: $111,350 - $150,650 Senior (Level 4) Summary pay range: $135,150 - $182,850
