Full job description

Internal Posting: Current Midlands Technical College Employees Only

The Nuclear Medicine Lab Monitor provides on-site classroom, laboratory, and administrative support for students enrolled in the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program at Midlands Technical College. The Lab Monitor typically provides support at the Upstate instructional location on Thursdays and Fridays, assisting with synchronous classroom instruction, facilitating communication between students and instructional faculty, and providing technical support for Microsoft Teams and OWL technology. On designated Thursdays and Fridays when students from both instructional locations meet at the Columbia campus, the Lab Monitor assists instructional faculty with laboratory activities, student preparation, distribution of instructional materials, and classroom organization. Additional responsibilities include assisting the Clinical Coordinator with student onboarding, clinical site and rotation preparation, clinical documentation, and other administrative tasks related to program operations.

The Lab Monitor also assists with maintaining student records, distributing required forms and instructional materials, responding to student questions within the scope of the position, and communicating student needs or concerns to instructional faculty and program leadership. The Lab Monitor supports the instructional, clinical, and administrative functions of the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program but does not serve as the primary instructor or independently deliver course instruction.

This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus Associate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related health sciences field from an accredited institution. Current certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in basic computer applications and classroom technology. Ability to provide instructional, laboratory, and administrative support while maintaining student confidentiality and professional standards. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel between the Columbia and Upstate instructional locations as required. Flexibility to work at designated locations based on program needs and scheduled instructional activities. Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related health sciences field. Previous clinical experience in nuclear medicine technology and experience supporting students in an academic or clinical educational setting. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, OWL classroom technology, learning management systems, and hybrid or synchronous instructional environments. Experience assisting with laboratory activities, clinical student onboarding, rotation coordination, student documentation, and administrative support within a healthcare education program.
