Watercraft - Part Time, Walt Disney World

Watercraft Cast Members are passionate about the safety of our Guests while providing a magical experience throughout their stay. Watercraft Cast Members are responsible for engaging Guests, loading, unloading, docking, and a fleet of multi-passenger boats of different dimensions. Cast Members will also provide narrations of varying lengths in front of large groups and provide audience control in various weather conditions.

Must be comfortable navigating around open waterways with other boats, and in small canals/waterways.

Watercraft Cast Members are required to attend a training of two or more consecutive weeks where they will participate in multiple performance assessments.

Responsibilities :

• We proactively engage with Guests by answering questions, giving directions and other information about the theme park or surrounding areas

• Prolong standing to perform and maintain crowd control during peak operational hours in outdoor settings during different weather conditions

• Prolong standing and walking to various areas to include climbing several flights of stairs

• Ability to tread and swim in deep water for an extend period

• We do heavy lifting of 50-70 pounds repeatedly

• We take ownership during emergency situations

• We pilot and dock vessels of multiple dimensions in various conditions including but not limited to; low visibility, night time, adverse weather conditions, and high winds

• We maneuver vessel in narrow waterways and must identify channel markers for safe passage

• We assist Guests with boarding our vessels and could operate a lift and even push and pull wheelchairs. We assist with loading/unloading Electronic Convenience Vehicles (ECV) and folding strollers

• Involves lifting, bending, stooping, and twisting

• We maintain the docks and boats by sweeping and removing trash

• We communicate using a radio with dispatch and other vessels

Basic Qualifications :

• Must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role with a valid Driver's License

• Strong written and interpersonal communications skills

• Physical role requiring heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and kneeling

• Observational skills to proactively identify Guest needs and ensure safety guidelines are being followed

• Part-Time requires full availability for any shift, a MINIMUM of three (3) days per week, including nights and holidays

• Cast Members may also be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is between $20.20 per hour to $20.85 per hour.
