Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller or Accounting Manager to join a non-profit school in North Hollywood, California on a Contract basis. This onsite role is suited for a finance specialist who can oversee core accounting activities, maintain accurate revenue reporting, and deliver clear financial insight to school leadership and governing boards. The position will play a key part in supporting financial transparency, preparing formal statements and reports, and assisting with audit-related activities.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.

• Monitor and reconcile revenue activity to support reliable reporting across school operations.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements for leadership review and decision-making.

• Develop financial reports and presentations tailored for the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees.

• Coordinate audit support by organizing schedules, documentation, and responses requested during the review process.

• Work within systems such as Veracross or BlackBaud to manage financial data and reporting needs.

• Partner with school leadership to help interpret financial results and highlight key trends or variances.

• Maintain an onsite presence five days per week to support cross-functional collaboration and timely issue resolution.

Requirements • Proven experience serving in a Controller or senior accounting leadership capacity.

• Strong background in preparing financial statements and related management reports.

• Hands-on experience supporting financial audits and responding to auditor requests.

• Familiarity with Veracross, BlackBaud, or comparable financial/accounting platforms.

• Ability to analyze revenue activity and maintain accurate, well-organized financial records.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to board-level stakeholders.

• Availability to work onsite in North Hollywood, California five days per week.
