Full job description

Assists with planning, organizing and coordinating the Encroachment Permit program in Georgetown County. Reviews, investigates and makes recommendations involving approval of all encroachment permit applications. Verifies/reviews encroachment permits for compliance with the ARMS manual, MUTCD, Policy for Accommodating Utilities, and Traffic control plans, and communicates directly with applicant for deficiencies. Performs periodic inspections of encroachment projects for construction and upon completion to ensure compliance with permit requirements and policy specifications. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations, may include being available for extended working hours or 12-hour shifts.A high school diploma and one (1) year of experience that is related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence.

The physical demands for the essential functions involves frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to 50 lbs. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May require occasional exposure to noise. May require working outside of normal work schedules and weekends.A resume may be included but NOT substituted for completing the education, work experience, or any other sections of the application.
