General Description:

The Director, Product & Pipeline Communications - Hematology is responsible for developing and leading the global communications strategy for BeOne’s Hematology franchise, encompassing commercialized products and pipeline assets across stages of development and lifecycle maturity.

Operating with a global and enterprise mindset, this leader sets global communications direction informed by regional priorities, stakeholder insights, competitive dynamics and market needs.

The Director ensures product & pipeline communications support business and scientific objectives while contributing to BeOne’s broader corporate brand, scientific credibility and reputation. The role looks beyond individual products and milestones to connect the portfolio’s science, innovation, leadership and patient impact to a coherent understanding of BeOne worldwide.

The Director serves as the strategic communications counselor to Corporate Affairs, Global Product and Global Brand leadership, and the Chief Medical Officer, Hematology. The role is responsible for the Chief Medical Officer’s thought leadership and executive visibility strategy and helps position BeOne’s scientific and medical leaders as credible, authoritative voices in oncology and patient care.

The position partners closely with the Corporate Communications and Media Relations team members to align product & pipeline communications with BeOne’s corporate narrative, global external communications strategy, earned media priorities, issues preparedness and enterprise reputation objectives.

Essential Functions:

Global Franchise Communications Strategy

  • Partner with the Executive Director, Corporate Brand & Reputation, to develop and lead a comprehensive, measurable global communications strategy for the Hematology franchise, encompassing pipeline assets, launch priorities, commercialized products and lifecycle opportunities.

  • Set global direction informed by regional priorities, market conditions, stakeholder needs and cultural context, and create mechanisms for regional insights to shape enterprise planning.

  • Develop and steward an integrated franchise narrative and message architecture across assets and lifecycle stages, ensuring global consistency while enabling appropriate regional adaptation.

  • Build and execute an annual communications plan with clear goals, objectives, audiences, strategies, key initiatives (e.g., communications materials, digital content, unbranded disease state education campaigns), budgets, and measures of success.

  • Identify opportunities to demonstrate BeOne’s scientific expertise and contributions in Hematology beyond major data releases, regulatory milestones and product announcements, including medical and patient impact stories that can generate credible external interest and reinforce BeOne’s corporate reputation.

  • Partner with the Media Relations team member to develop proactive and milestone-related earned media strategies for the Hematology franchise and provide franchise expertise, context, messaging and executive access needed to support high-quality media engagement.

  • Provide ongoing strategic counsel to the broader Corporate Affairs team, Global Product and Global Brand leadership, and cross-functional partners regarding communications opportunities, tradeoffs and reputation considerations.

Product, Pipeline and Lifecycle Communications

  • Lead global communications planning and execution across the Hematology portfolio lifecycle, from early development through pivotal data, regulatory milestones, launch, commercialization and lifecycle management.

  • Develop strategies and materials for clinical data readouts, publications, regulatory decisions, product launches, indication expansions and other significant milestones.

  • Translate complex scientific concepts, mechanisms of action and clinical data into clear, accurate and compelling narratives tailored to priority audiences.

  • Partner with Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Legal, Market Access and Patient Advocacy teams to ensure coordinated and compliant execution.

  • Develop branded and unbranded disease education and multichannel storytelling programs that increase understanding and demonstrate potential impact for people living with blood cancer.

Medical Congresses and Scientific Engagement

  • Lead global communications strategy and execution for priority medical congresses and scientific meetings to drive impact of BeOne’s science and leadership.

  • Develop integrated plans supporting the Hematology franchise narrative and key data releases, inclusive of media engagement, potential booth activation, executive visibility, digital content and internal communications.

  • Oversee congress messaging, press materials, executive preparation, and internal readouts.

  • Collaborate with R&D communications colleagues to grow awareness and understanding of BeOne’s scientific expertise and ongoing clinical programs to expand into new indications.

Chief Medical Officer Thought Leadership and Executive Visibility

  • Serve as the primary communications counselor to the Chief Medical Officer, Hematology and other priority scientific and medical leaders within the Hematology franchise.

  • Develop and execute a sustained thought leadership and executive visibility strategy aligned with the Chief Medical Officer’s expertise, franchise priorities and BeOne’s corporate narrative.

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for media engagement, speaking platforms, scientific forums, bylines, social content, awards and other external visibility.

  • Support the development of executive messaging, briefing materials, and talking points for external engagements.

  • Partner with the Corporate Communications and Media Relations team members to ensure CMO visibility supports enterprise thought leadership, executive visibility and earned media strategies.

  • Prepare and counsel scientific leaders for high-profile engagements, balancing scientific rigor, audience relevance, business context and reputation considerations.

Issues Preparedness and Reputation Management

  • Operate beyond franchise and product silos and consider how communications decisions affect BeOne’s overall reputation, scientific standing and stakeholder trust.

  • Monitor scientific, competitive, regulatory and stakeholder developments that may create communications opportunities or reputation risks for the franchise.

  • Anticipate potential issues, develop response materials and ensure franchise leaders and communications partners are prepared for sensitive developments.

  • Partner with the Media Relations team member on issues assessment, escalation, response planning and crisis communications related to the franchise.

Measurement, Resources and Operations

  • Define and track metrics related to narrative and message pull-through, stakeholder engagement, executive visibility, media quality and reputation outcomes.

  • Use data, stakeholder insights and competitive intelligence to evaluate performance and improve strategy and execution.

  • Manage Hematology franchise communications budgets, agency partners, scopes, deliverables and spending with discipline and accountability.
