Summary
About the Position: The Health Technician (Occupational Health) will work at the Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD) Occupational Health Clinic in Richmond, KY in a clinic environment preforming a variety of duties to include patient intake, health assessments, and maintaining medical records. Clinic hours are 0630-1700; Monday - Thursday. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Duties
- Provide patient screening to obtain and review medical and/or occupational history.
- Perform various screenings, such as vital signs, vision, spirometry, audiometry, and electrocardiograms.
- Document pertinent data in the electronic medical record, as well as other documents, as appropriate for the examination being performed.
- Assist in coordinating the patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Assist in patient reception and answering telephones.
- Participate in safe practices, emergency procedures, and proper handling of medical waste.
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of medical records, including record transfers, and information release procedures.
- Refer abnormal screening results to clinic RN or Provider for evaluation.
Qualifications
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Conducting patient health screenings and/or intake assessments for assigned patients; 2) conducting various diagnostic health tests and/or assessments for assigned patients; 3) utlizing automated software to update patient medical records; and 4) providing administrative support duties within assigned area. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of War referral system for displaced employees. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
