Insight Global is seeking a Director of Maintenance, Facilities & Infrastructure for large amusement park, water park, and campground/resort complexing in Kansas City, MO.

This individual will serve as the senior leader responsible for maintenance operations, facilities management, infrastructure reliability, construction projects, capital improvements, labor relations, workforce development, and safety performance across a 350-acre theme park, water park, and campground operation. The property functions similarly to a small city, requiring oversight of rides, attractions, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, utilities, water operations, lodging accommodations, grounds, and overall infrastructure.

The Director will lead all Maintenance and Construction Division operations while driving cultural and operational improvements throughout the organization. A key focus will be strengthening preventative maintenance programs, improving asset reliability, managing infrastructure rehabilitation efforts, and fostering a culture centered around safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

This role will partner closely with park leadership, HR, union representatives, contractors, and corporate teams while overseeing departmental budgets, capital planning, workforce development, labor relations, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance and construction operations across rides, attractions, facilities, utilities, infrastructure, and grounds.
  • Develop operational goals, maintenance strategies, and long-term infrastructure plans.
  • Oversee capital improvement projects from planning through execution.
  • Drive preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives to improve reliability and asset availability.
  • Administer maintenance department labor agreements and support labor-management initiatives.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and lead maintenance and construction personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, labor, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage operating budgets, capital budgets, contractors, and vendor relationships.
  • Support park operations, special events, and emergency response efforts as needed.

Skills and Requirements

  • 6-10+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, facilities, engineering, construction, or technical operations.
  • 5+ years leading multi-disciplinary maintenance, facilities, construction, or engineering teams.
  • Experience managing complex maintenance operations across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, infrastructure, and facilities systems.
  • Experience overseeing capital projects, construction initiatives, contractors, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, EHS, safety compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change, improve processes, and develop teams.
  • Strong budgeting, capital planning, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Amusement park, theme park, water park, resort, entertainment venue, or large public facility experience.
  • Experience in a unionized environment with exposure to labor relations and collective bargaining agreements
  • Experience leading maintenance operations in manufacturing, utilities, industrial facilities, physical plants, or other complex operational environments.
  • Experience with ride systems, utilities, infrastructure, water systems, lodging facilities, or grounds operations.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Professional certifications related to maintenance, engineering, facilities, construction, or project management. Experience participating in union negotiations and labor-management initiatives.
