Full job description

Coordinator, Creative Services | Graphic Design & Brand

Help shape how OPPD shows up.

OPPD is looking for an experienced graphic design and brand professional to join our Corporate Brand & Communication Operations team. This is much more than a traditional production-design role. We're looking for someone who can create exceptional visual work, help steward an established corporate brand, improve creative processes, and serve as a trusted creative partner across the organization.

You'll work closely with our Corporate Brand & Communication Operations leadership and collaborate with teams throughout OPPD on everything from major organizational initiatives and infrastructure projects to campaigns, presentations, digital content, reports and other high-visibility communications.

If you have strong professional design experience, understand how to manage a brand in a complex organization, and enjoy finding better ways to get creative work done, we'd love to see your work.

What You'll Do

As our Coordinator, Creative Services, you will:

  • Create compelling visual communications for internal and external audiences, including campaigns, presentations, reports, digital content and other branded materials.

  • Serve as a brand steward, reviewing creative work for consistency, accuracy and alignment with OPPD¿s visual identity and providing guidance to internal partners and external vendors.

  • Partner closely with business areas and project teams to understand their needs and translate them into strong, effective creative solutions.

  • Help manage creative intake and workflow, including prioritizing, scheduling and tracking requests to ensure work moves efficiently and deadlines are met.

  • Support high-profile projects and initiatives, including work involving major infrastructure projects and external creative/engineering partners.

  • Build and improve design systems, templates, toolkits and standards that make great design easier and more consistent across OPPD.

  • Manage digital creative assets and help establish organized, scalable practices for version control, accessibility and reuse.

  • Lead collaborative reviews and feedback sessions, helping stakeholders turn ideas and feedback into actionable creative direction.

  • Identify opportunities to modernize the creative function, improving processes, tools and ways of working rather than simply continuing to do things because "that's how they've always been done."

  • Support creative project reporting, budgets, purchase orders, invoicing and related administrative coordination as needed.

What We're Looking For

This is not an entry-level graphic design opportunity. We're looking for someone who has developed their craft in a professional environment and understands the difference between creating a good-looking piece and building communications that consistently support an enterprise brand.

You'll be a strong fit if you bring:

  • Significant hands-on professional graphic design experience in a corporate, agency or similarly complex environment.

  • Strong experience working within and helping manage corporate brand standards and visual identity systems.

  • Advanced expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, including tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

  • The ability to independently take a creative project from intake and concept through design, review, revision and final delivery.

  • Experience balancing multiple projects, stakeholders, priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain creative decisions and navigate feedback from a variety of stakeholders.

  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement, organization and finding smarter ways to deliver creative work.

Even Better If You Have

  • Motion graphics or animation experience. This is an area we would especially love to add to the team.

  • Photography or videography experience.

  • Photo and/or video editing capabilities.

  • Experience developing templates, design systems or creative toolkits.

  • Experience with creative workflow/intake systems or digital asset management.

  • Experience partnering with outside agencies, vendors or contractors.

Show Us Your Work

A portfolio is an important part of our selection process.

Please include a link to an online portfolio, website or other examples of your work with your application. If your portfolio is not online, you may provide another format that demonstrates the breadth and quality of your professional design experience.

We're especially interested in seeing work that demonstrates brand thinking, corporate/organizational design, visual storytelling and a range of creative applications, rather than only social-media graphics.

Work Environment

This role offers flexibility while remaining connected to the team and the organization. OPPD currently requires at least one day per week at an OPPD facility, with the Corporate Brand & Communication Operations team typically connecting in person on Wednesdays.

The nature of the team's work may also provide opportunities to get out into the organization, collaborate with employees and capture the people, projects and stories behind OPPD.

Why OPPD?

At OPPD, your work is visible throughout the organization and the communities we serve. You'll have an opportunity to help shape and strengthen the visual expression of one of Nebraska's most recognizable organizations while joining a collaborative communications team that is actively modernizing how creative work gets done.

This is an opportunity for an experienced designer who wants to do great creative work while also helping build something better.

Ready to help shape the OPPD brand? We'd love to see what you've created.
