Position Summary

Make required inspections of parts as required by Quality Control. Operate and monitor machine functions. Keep boxes made ahead and labels for each part ran on machine. Complies with all safety rules. Maintain clean equipment. Will alternate days working as utility in sorting and fablock departments as needed.

What You’ll Do

As a Sorting Utility Worker, you’ll be part of our team located in Montpelier, IN. You’ll get to:

• Monitor quality visually and with appropriate test and/or gauges

• Box and palletize parts

• Keep pallets stacked ready to use

• Remove finished products

• Perform basic adjustments to machines

• Ability to distinguish good/bad parts via provided samples

• Keep returnable containers cleaned of old labels, parts and trash

• Clean all machines between jobs

• Able to work in other areas/depts. when assigned

• Inform supervisor or set up operator when machine needs adjustments/repair

• Load machines as needed to keep running

• Follow proper housekeeping procedures according to company guidelines

• Ability to work overtime as needed

• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

• Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Operate forklift to move tubs and load machines

Physical Demands

• Walking, standing frequently

• Use of eyes to visually inspect parts frequently

• Use of hands, arms and fingers regularly, grasping bags and making / taping boxes

• Lifting 20-35 pounds regularly, occasionally 50+ lbs – assisted 2 person lift anything over 35 lbs

• Carrying product to load and stack pallets

• Bending and squatting frequently
