Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer focused on land development to join a confidential company in the greater Austin, TX area. This is a full-time, permanent role with competitive salary, equity, and benefits.

Role overview: In this role, the Civil Engineer will be on the construction projects team, and will be responsible for designing, building, and activating critical production facility infrastructure for a massive, 1M+ square foot campus. This role is very hands-on and requires candidates to both plan AND execute new facility construction/renovation projects, primarily focused on heavy civil and utility components.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar engineering discipline
  • 1+ year of professional experience in civil engineering design, analysis, and drafting

Required skills and experience:

  • Prior work experience owning projects from start to finish in the industrial, manufacturing, and commercial land development projects

  • 4+ years of work experience in full lifecycle civil engineering: design, analysis, and drafting

  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Strong previous experience with civil design software, specifically StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMC, PCSWMM, and WaterCAD

  • 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD Civil3D (grading to create a Civil3D surface file, earthwork volume takeoffs, plan and profile creation, base model set-up, etc.)

  • Prior applied knowledge of location-relevant governing permitting and environmental agencies

  • Strong experience reading, reviewing, and approving shop and fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals

  • MUST be available to work extended hours and weekends based on site operational needs Additional requirements:

  • Ability to work at elevated heights and both indoor and outdoor environments

  • Ability to lift 25lb and be on foot at the construction site

  • Ability to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise

  • Ability to provide on-call support in emergencies

  • Willingness to travel occasionally

  • Ability to work onsite in Bastrop, TX (no remote considered)

  • Valid driver’s license
