Organization: SLH-Sutter Lakeside Hospital Position Overview: A task oriented person performing food preparation, serving, and storage functions. Cleaning and storage of food service equipment. Communicates closely with the dietary clerks and Department Director. Must be comfortable with patient interactions including meal delivery in a healthcare setting. Job Description: EDUCATION

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

Previous food service

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Basic food production and food service knowledge with ability to use various food service supplies and equipment.
Knowledge of maintaining a safe food environment including proper cleaning procedures and usage of equipment.
Must be able to read, write and speak English as well as understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions.
Must have sufficient mathematical ability to perform basic measurement and portioning activities including increasing and decreasing recipes.
Ability to meet established deadlines and multi-task in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.
Strong customer service skills.
Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
Continuous pushing 300 pound carts.
Working environment includes freezing temperatures as low as -10 degrees, refrigerated temperatures of 40 degrees, and cooking room temperatures up to 100 degrees.

Pay Range is $25.71 to $31.34 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
