Inventory Management Specialist

Duties

• Analyze and review inventory database system to prepare necessary adjustments to general materials, passport, smart card material products balances, related paper trails, and on hand inventory quantities reports.
• Review and evaluate daily and monthly inventory reports to determine accuracy of load tickets, move orders, transfers and other documents.
• Answer inquiries regarding general materials, passports, smart card materials products availability in the inventory and inventory balances through meetings.
• Prepare and submit weekly analysis of system deficiencies for appropriate action and corrections.
• Review, coordinate, and maintain the statuses of all outstanding back orders.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Inventory Management Specialist, PG - 2010 - 9 , you must meet the following requirements: Specialized Experience: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular specialized experience, education or training to perform successfully the duties of the position or typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: (1) Analyzing inventory management reports; (2) Utilizing automated inventory management systems to maintain current inventory data; and (3) Researching and analyzing information to resolve questions and issues regarding inventory discrepancies. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related OR Combination of education and experience which equals 100%. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may be used or this grade level. Are you using your education to qualify? Background Investigation: For a Suitability: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation.
