  • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education Required

  • Baccalaureate degree in a health related field is preferred. CPR-AED certification required. Lifeguard and WSI Instructor/Trainer preferred. Pool and Spa Operator certification required (or acquires within six months from date of hire). Arthitis program certification and water aerobic program certification or workshops helpful.

  • Experience

  • One or more years experience managing a pool in a health or therapy related setting.

  • Physical

  • Requires standing, walking or exercising up to three hours at a time on land or in water. Ability to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling and foot movement. Bending, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level frequently required and may be required to climb, crawl, and reach occasionally. Good vision and the ability to speak clearly are continuously required. Exposure to hot and humid work environment for 8 hours and exposure to chemicals such as chlorine. Must be alert to potentially dangerous situations such as cardiac arrest, drowning, or pool injuries. Must be able to work with pool chemicals in a sage manner. Must deal with continuous noise levels and odors in the pool areas.

  • JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsibility for the daily operations of the aquatics department, programs, and staffing. Responsible for all pool equipment maintenance and operations, monitoring and adjusting pool water chemicals and conditions to meet health department regulations at all times, safety of the pool area at all times, programming and classes, swim lessons, and management of lifeguard and other aquatics staff. Assists the overall facility by participating in the Manager on Duty (MOD) rotation.
